My guess is, either fuse it with G+ or, simply stop supporting it altogether while leaving it running in limbo for whoever wants to remain on that dead end ( like, for example, Google Notebook: http://www.google.com/notebook/ ).

I think they will keep it up but without further development, much like FriendFeed, until people are still using it.

+Sérgio Bernardino Well, with Notebook they at least added an "Export to Google Docs" button. Maybe they could/should also create a "migrate to Google+" button to Orkut profiles?
